How I’m Going to Use Bloginator to Tell the Story of Building Bloginator

Jim Kass |
I’ve decided to start sharing some behind-the-scenes updates about how I’ve been building Bloginator — an AI-powered tool I’ve poured everything into over the last several months.

This journey represents more than just building a product – it's a story of adaptation, learning, and leveraging AI to create something meaningful.

A Fresh Start

My story begins with a layoff in March 2024. Instead of seeing this as a setback, I embraced it as an opportunity to dive deep into the world of AI – particularly Large Language Models (LLMs). I found myself using AI to enhance every aspect of my life, which sparked a desire to rediscover software engineering. I wanted to push beyond the limitations of standard conversational chatbots.

Starting with just a laptop, an internet connection, and an OpenAI API key, I began experimenting in Jupyter notebooks, letting my imagination guide the way. Throughout this process, I was eager to write about my experiences using the technology, share what I was building, and document the lessons I was learning. However, everything felt like a work in progress, and nothing seemed quite ready for publication.

The Birth of Bloginator

That's when it hit me – what if I could use AI to help me share what I was doing with AI? This simple idea evolved into Bloginator. Not only did I see an opportunity to build a product, but I realized I could use AI to help me build it.

As a product manager by trade, I've found that AI has enabled me to expand beyond my traditional role. While AI isn't operating autonomously, it's helping me take on additional responsibilities alongside my PM duties. I'm actively involved in every aspect – from managing the backlog and writing user stories to coding, testing, deploying, crafting marketing copy, and fine-tuning AI prompts.

What's Next

Over the coming weeks, I'll be sharing a series of articles detailing how I'm building Bloginator from the ground up. And here's the exciting part – I'll be using Bloginator itself to help me write these posts. It's the ultimate demonstration of the tool's capabilities, happening in real-time as I continue to develop it.

Join the Journey

While I'm not quite ready to open the doors completely, I am building a list of private beta testers. I envision this becoming more than just an experimental tool – it's a product that I want you to use and help shape. Your feedback will be invaluable in ensuring Bloginator meets real user needs.

If you're interested in being among the first to try Bloginator, you can sign up for the private beta at https://thebloginator.com/private-beta.

I can't wait to share this journey with you all!
